The Sugar Bowl, Friday Sketches & Just Magnolia

My first card is for The Sugar Bowl challenge with a great sketch by Marlene. They also wanted to see zig zags somewhere on your card. I used the ric rac for my zig zag. The papers are Papermania from last year and I added some Craftwork card candy. The text is printed out.

And my second project is a gift bag using the sketch over at Friday Sketches. I decided to enter into the Just Magnolia challenge which is masking. And when I made the image up, it was actually bigger than I would usually do for a card, so I decided to make a bag. I need several more too - so may be making some more. The papers are a download from Sweet shoppe Designs by Zoe Pearn - Winter Wishes. I printed out the text and added 3 brads at the top. I added the poinsettia because it looked a bit bare up there. I decided to go with a nice thick organza ribbon, but didn't think I had any. But I found this one from years back. I think I may just have to invest in some more. I kinda like this one. It made great handles too.

Penny Black SC & Motivet

For my first card I have used the sketch over at the Motivet Challenge. I have used the cute Doraline with sunflower and coloured her in with watercolour pencils. The papers are Pink Petticoat and I have used some brown card to matt. The flowers are Prima and the sentiment I found in the bottom of a drawer. I think it came from bits that were free from a mag. I'm trying to use up some of my older stash. Boy, could that take a while. I think I could open up a shop with it all.

And over at the Penny Black SC, they have a special Christmas challenge going on. So I thought I would make a special Christmas card to go with it. I went with the easel card and a snowman image cos my friend loves snowmen. The papers are MME - The Merry Days of Christmas. I printed out the text and added 2 wee poinsettias and several MS punched snowflakes. I coloured it in with Distress inks.

Quixotic Challenge

The challenge over at Quixotic Paperie is to use the colours red and kraft. I decided to go with this image by Victoria Case for SCACD. I got mine from Elaine's shop. I did kinda cheat right enough. I have used red and for the brown matt, I inked the edges of the card with brown distress ink - but I think it works. The papers are a download from Sweet Shoppe Designs by Zoe Pearn - Winter Wonderland. The Merry Christmas is from Magnolia. I so wanted to put some ribbon there - but managed to stop myself. And I just added some buttons and a snowflake to finish.

Winter Wonderland Wk24

For the challenge over at Winter Wonderland they have the theme of Pantomimes and/or a sketch. I decided to go with both - honest. I have to admit I thought Pantomimes would be easier than it actually was. I had everyone trying to think of a pantomime, and then trying to think what stamp I had to go with it. Yeah OK - so a stamp didn't come into it. It suddenly came to me - Cinderella, and the missing shoe. It helps that I have a Sister who loves shoes right enough. So I dug out a template (couldn't find my Sizzlet die - think I must have a tidy up eh), cut the toe a wee bit smaller and then started to put together. Then I realised I was supposed to be following the sketch, so had a wee shuffle around. But hey - I like the end result. Yep - the papers are Pink Petticoat. The shoe, holly and matt are actually silver mirri board. A nightmare to photo, so it will just have to do. And I'm lovin these Easel cards - I have made quite a few of them now.

Winter Wonderland, Friday Sketches & Kraftin Kimmie

The theme over at Winter Wonderland is Jingle Bells. I made another Easel card - love these and so simple to make. I used a cute digital image from Angels Landing - coloured in with Copics. The papers are from Pink Petticoat and I have added a few punched snowflakes and used the Martha Stewart Icicle border punch. I added 2 wee bells to the ribbon. I printed out the Merry Christmas and used sizzlet alphabets for the Lauryn.

And for my wee Daisy card, I have used the sketch from over at Friday Sketches. And since this has a tag, I can also enter it into the Kraftin Kimmie Challenge. The papers are again Pink Petticoat and I printed out the text too. I Found a bone punch in the back of the drawer, so just had to give her some bones - yeah.

Mo's Digital challenge

Over at Mo's Digital Challenge, they want to see some fancy folds. I have seen these Easel cards around and thought they looked fab. Although I must admit, I did think they would be a bit complicated. But hey, I gave it a go and found it really easy. And now I really must do loads more. Yeah, I know, maybe you'll get a little fed up with them eh. I found the instructions here for the Easel card. The papers are Papermania and the Christmas wishes is a stamp from one of the Popcorn the Bear Christmas stamp sets from Crafters Companion. I have also used several punched snowflakes and a wee poinsettia flower from The Hobby House.

Friday Sketches & The Sugar Bowl

First up, we have a card following the sketch over at Friday Sketches. The little paper that I used is from Pink Petticoat and the image is Papermania. I stamped it in silver and then clear embossed it. I wanted to do a few simple cards and add a bit of Tartan. So I thought this sketch would be good for that. The snowflakes are a Martha Stewart punch. Printed the text and mounted all on silver mirri card and added 3 wee rhinestones to finish.

And then we have a card for The Sugar Bowl. A fab sketch by Kathy. They also wanted you to use lace. I used one of the Gorjuss Girls from set 3 with Basic Grey papers. You can just about see the lace by the sentiment. Yeah - it is there. The sentiment is from Woodware. I added a few rhinestones to finish off.

Winter Wonderland & Mo's Digi

I decided to make a gift bag, after my Sister asked if I could make her a couple. So this is the first one. Her friend is into cats, so I thought it was the perfect one for Mo's Challenge, which is anything but a card. I coloured the image in with chalks, but I'm not convinced. I have used several snowflake punches - EK Success border, Martha Stewart and Hobbycraft. The poinsettia is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the paper is Pink Petticoat. I have printed the sentiment directly onto the backing paper. I also added a wee charm, but I now think that it should maybe have been a snowflake. But hey - it's done ow. Anyway, I can also enter it into the Winter Wonderland Challenge, as they want stockings. I knew it would come good eh.

And I have also managed a card for A Spoonful of Sugar which is a sketch. Again I have used Pink Petticoat papers and Poinsettia, with a couple of craftwork card candy thingies.

The Sugar Bowl

Over at The Sugar Bowl they have a fab sketch by Tiets to follow. They also want you to make a Christmas card. The papers are Pink Petticoat and the Naughty or nice is a stamp from Cuddly Buddly. The flowers are Prima and I have added 3 wee dew drops.

Winter Wonderland

Over at Winter Wonderland the theme is Gingerbread. Not my usual theme I must admit. I looked around for something, then decided to look on a CD. I found a CD by The Orange Blossom, and decided to have a look for a gingerbread house. Nope, no house, but hey - it did have a gingerbread man. Perfect. So I printed it off along with the background paper and had a wee play around. This was the final result. I had to draw a Santa hat for him. Punched out a few snowflakes and printed the text, matted onto kraft paper and voila, we have a finished card.

And finally, a big Thank you to Judy for the candy I won. It arrived last week, when the Hubby was off sick, so I didn't get to play much. But he had a wee play, and was rather impressed. Gotta keep them happy eh. So thanks again.

Friday Sketches & Kraftin Kimmie

I have kinda followed the sketch over at Friday Sketches for this card. I say kinda, cos I didn't have an oval big enough for this image. So I rounded the corners instead. I hope this still counts. But - hey ho - if not, I'm still entering it into Kraftin Kimmie's first challenge. Yep - this super cute image is by Kraftin' Kimmie and the theme over there is Birthdays. A nice and simple one. I used papers from a download by Zoe Pearn from Sweet Shoppe Designs.

Whiff of Joy Birthday

The Whiff of Joy Challenge Blog is celebrating it's Birthday. They have a sketch by Rach for the challenge this week. I'm cutting it a bit fine right enough. But here it is anyway. I have used the fab Henry mouse with his hot chocolate for this one. The papers are Papermania and I printed the text. The snowflakes are Martha Stewart punches.

Penny Black & Cute Card Thursday

I have 2 card to show you today. The first one is for Penny Black S C. They want to see Autumn colours. I chose these orange papers from a Chris Warner CD, I just love these. The flowers are Prima.

And my second card is for Cute Card Thursday, and they want to see charms. I have used this super cute stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie's new stamp range. I just had to get this one. I have tried to colour it in similar to my wee Jack - Bonnie. Yes - I know I have 3 - but, well, Bonnie is the only one to have spots on her back like this one. I'll try the others when I get a bit more adventurous. I coloured her in with Copics. I don't usually like black with these, but I don't think I have done too bad with this one. The papers are MME - Wild Asparagus.

Friday Sketches & Mo's Digital Pencil

I followed the sketch over at Friday Sketches for this card. The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil and is called Swine flu. Anyway - the Hubby is into pigs, so this caught my eye straight away - maybe not quite the pig thing he is into right enough. Well, he's been off work with the flu this week, so it was the perfect image to get. The 1st challenge over at Mo's Digital Pencil is the colour "perple" - so the colour "perple" they will get. The papers are a download from Sweet shoppe Designs from the sale section. I printed out the text and added 2 wee buttons and 3 rhinestones.

Winter Wonderland

I thought I had better get in quick with my card for Winter Wonderland, since I never got round to posting my gift bag last week. And boy - I think I must be getting braver. I've loved the look of these kind of cards, but kinda stick to good ol stamped images. But hey - I thought I would give it a go and kinda like it. Although I'm not too sure about the reins. But it did need something for Santa to control those Reindeer. The paper is Funky Hand and all the elements (apart from the snowflakes) are cut on the Cricut from the Christmas Cheer cartridge. I printed out the Merry Christmas and matted on silver mirri board. And yes - I had to give a Reindeer a shiny red nose with a rhinestone. I coloured Santa in - I couldn't be bothered with the wee fiddly bits - but he looks OK.

And yeah - here's last weeks gift bag - kinda late, but it's here.

Image is Ladybug and Friends. Papers - Funky Hand. Punches used were - Martha Stewart Icicle border and snowflake and Hobbycraft snowflake. Sentiment - printed out.

High Hopes and A Spoonful of Sugar

Over on the High Hopes challenge they want you to use lots of layers. This is lots to me. And over at A Spoonful of Sugar they want a Christmas card. So I thought I would get them both done with this one. The image is of course High Hopes. The papers are Papermania - Deck the Halls. I have cuttlebug embossed snowflakes behind Santa and printed out the text. I have added a bit of ribbon and 3 dew drops. Pretty simple really.

The Sugar Bowl #20

The added extra over at The Sugar Bowl is paper piecing. So I thought this Gorjuss Girl would be perfect for it. I pieced her dress with the same paper as the background. These are Papermania - Home for Christmas. I have printed the text and matted it into green card. The large snowflake is Martha Stewart and the Poinsettia is from The Hobby House.

A Spoonful of Sugar & Winter Wonderland

Over at A Spoonful of Sugar challenge they have a sketch by Nikki, so I decided to combine this with the Winter Wonderland challenge which is Hot Chocolate. These days when I think of Hot chocolate, I think of it with marshmallows. So I have gone pink and brown. I have used Elisabeth Bell's Hug in a mug by Sugar Nellie and coloured her in with watercolour pencils. The papers are Pink Petticoat. The larger snowflake is a Martha Stewart punch which I got from Bunny Zoe's crafts along with the raffia. I printed the text out as usual and added 2 wee buttons.

Not a Christmas card

I feel that all I'm making is Christmas cards. So when I was asked to make a Wedding card with a Scottish theme, I jumped a the chance for a change. I decided to keep it simple for a change. I don't know if it is what they are looking for - but I'm liking the simplicity of it. I embossed some white card with the Swiss dots Cuttlebug embossing folder and mounted onto some silver card. I took a tall card (another change for me) and put it on that. And for me - a Scottish theme wouldn't be complete without a bit of Tartan ribbon. I have also used the Quickutz horse shoe die, a double heart charm and 3 wee heart rhinestones. I printed out the text and then stamped the Thistle above it. The Thistle stamp is from Heritage Rubber Stamp Co, I think. This is one from the beginning of my stamping obsession. I liked it, but couldn't really use it. I was strictly a black ink pad onto stamp person. But as I progressed and came across the colouring in the stamp (yeah I know - pretty slow aren't I) and this stamp was reborn - I LOVE it.

Penny Black Wk66

Here is my card for this weeks Penny Black Challenge. It was a great sketch by Domi. I kinda shy away from circles, but I don't know why. I think they make great cards. So thanks for getting me to try Guys. I have used papers from the new word books over at Funky Hand. I love them. I have embossed the circle with the Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder. The punched snowflakes and gooey border are Martha Stewart and I have printed out the text.
