Winter Wonderland Tags

I really must get a start on some Christmas makes. So I have made some Tags for the Winter Wonderland Challenge. For some reason, when I make tags, I seem to go in sets of six. And as these coffee cups are in at the moment, I thought I would jump in with them. (Hopefully they will still be big at Christmas - Haha). Anyway - the cup is a Whimsy Die and I love it. It certainly makes cute gift tags. The red one are using Papers from Michele Roo Designs and the holly is a Spellbinders die. And then a wee bit of bakers twine to finish.

The black ones are just some black card. I have glued it onto white card so you can see the writing on the back, but I suppose if you use a white pen, you wouldn't need to do that. The snowflake is from a large set of dies from x-cut that I managed to get at a Hobbycraft show.

I think I am liking the red ones best, but both are nice. The die is a nice size for these.

Christmas riding

Thought I had better start some Christmas card making. So thought I would start with the Challenge over at Winter Wonderland where the theme is gingham or check. This so didn't quite go the way I planned, but there is still gingham. I thought I had gingham in another paper pack, but couldn't find any. But hey, I bought this pack at the weekend (so maybe shouldn't quite be using it yet - haha). The paper is by Dovecraft. The stamp is Bilmalarna and the sentiment is Lili of the Valley. I have also followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday #248.

Dreaming of a white Christmas

Thought I would try and get some Christmas cards made. So when I saw the theme over at Winter Wonderland was white on white, I decided why not. So here we are. The image is from the Mulberry Wood CD from Crafters Companion. I have used embossing folders, which I think you can just about see. The very back is also from Crafters Companion called Let it snow and is an A4 folder. The dots are from Cuttlebug I think - swiss dots. The postmark (I just had to add) is from Lili of the Valley, and I printed the sentiment. I needed a bit of help, so followed the sketch over at Sketch Saturday. I also want to enter this card into the Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge where the theme is - For a child.

High Hopes #182

The challenge over at High Hopes is red and green. So of course I made a Christmas card. This cutie is from last years Christmas releases (I think) and I love him. But then I do have a wee soft spot for Penguins. I don't know who the paper is by. I found it amongst my mega sized stash of papers. The sentiment is Lili of the Valley. It is green, but I'm not sure it shows up too well. I added a bit of ribbon and 3 wee rhinestones. I also want to enter it into the challenge over at Winter Wonderland where they want to see red and green too.

Penny Black Winter Wonderland

I'm now getting into Christmas mode. But I still have some Birthday cards I need to make, so I guess it wont last long. Well I got this Penny Black stamp in the sale at The Glitterpot and I'm lovin it. It goes well with these Papermania papers from last year. I am entering this card into the challenge over at Winter Wonderland where the theme is red, white and kraft. I love seeing everyone's colouring on kraft so decided to give it a go. Thinking now, I might prefer it on white. Anyway, the image is cut out with a nestie. The sentiment is Cats Life Press and the Poinsettia is a Marianne D die.
I have also coloured on white and made this card into an easel card. The bottom sentiment is by Crafty Impressions. I am entering this one into the challenge over at Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Monthly Challenge where they have an anything goes theme every month.

Winter Wonderland CCT

I thought I had better get cracking on some Christmas cards. Everyone around me keeps telling me it's only so many weeks til Christmas. Aaargh. So for the challenge over at Cute Card Thursday they want to see clean and simple. I don't usually go for this style, but might just have to change that. I got this Marianne D stag die, which says it all really. So I printed out the Merry Christmas (several times before I got the right size/place right enough) and matted all onto brown card. Yes - brown, I know it looks black though. I scribbled the brown around the text layer just because I thought it looked a bit bare.

And my second card for the challenge over at Winter Wonderland where the theme is Light it up. So I used this cute Bildmalarna image and the sketch over at Sweet stop. The papers are Papermania, punched snowflake, printed sentiment, a bit of ribbon, button and job done.

Winter Wonderland embossing

The challenge over at Winter Wonderland is embossing. I'm running a bit late with this one - but hopefully not too late. I quite like this card and its simple ness. I used an embossing folder from Crafts too for the tree and the papers are Pink Petticoat. I printed the Special Couple directly onto the paper then printed the Merry Christmas and cut with a nestie. Added some tartan ribbon and some stickles and rhinestones to the tree. I inked around the edges with Distress inks. I think I might just have to make a few more of these.

Winter Wonderland Candy cane

I did make a card for last weeks sketch, but never got round to posting it on here. So thought I would put here now to show you all. The papers are Dovecraft and the image is from The Greeting Farm. Have used EK Success border punch and Marta Stewart snowflake punch. Printed out the text.

Running a bit late with this one again. But thought I would chance it anyway. The challenge over at Winter Wonderland is Candy cane red. Use red and white. It doesn't have to have a candy cane image. But I decided to use my Whiff of Joy stamp and go red and white. But I think it might just be a bit too red for me. I think the papers are from Provo craft. The sentiment is a stamp from Popcorn from Crafters Companion.

Winter Wonderland Wk24

For the challenge over at Winter Wonderland they have the theme of Pantomimes and/or a sketch. I decided to go with both - honest. I have to admit I thought Pantomimes would be easier than it actually was. I had everyone trying to think of a pantomime, and then trying to think what stamp I had to go with it. Yeah OK - so a stamp didn't come into it. It suddenly came to me - Cinderella, and the missing shoe. It helps that I have a Sister who loves shoes right enough. So I dug out a template (couldn't find my Sizzlet die - think I must have a tidy up eh), cut the toe a wee bit smaller and then started to put together. Then I realised I was supposed to be following the sketch, so had a wee shuffle around. But hey - I like the end result. Yep - the papers are Pink Petticoat. The shoe, holly and matt are actually silver mirri board. A nightmare to photo, so it will just have to do. And I'm lovin these Easel cards - I have made quite a few of them now.

Winter Wonderland

Over at Winter Wonderland the theme is Gingerbread. Not my usual theme I must admit. I looked around for something, then decided to look on a CD. I found a CD by The Orange Blossom, and decided to have a look for a gingerbread house. Nope, no house, but hey - it did have a gingerbread man. Perfect. So I printed it off along with the background paper and had a wee play around. This was the final result. I had to draw a Santa hat for him. Punched out a few snowflakes and printed the text, matted onto kraft paper and voila, we have a finished card.

And finally, a big Thank you to Judy for the candy I won. It arrived last week, when the Hubby was off sick, so I didn't get to play much. But he had a wee play, and was rather impressed. Gotta keep them happy eh. So thanks again.

Winter Wonderland

I thought I had better get in quick with my card for Winter Wonderland, since I never got round to posting my gift bag last week. And boy - I think I must be getting braver. I've loved the look of these kind of cards, but kinda stick to good ol stamped images. But hey - I thought I would give it a go and kinda like it. Although I'm not too sure about the reins. But it did need something for Santa to control those Reindeer. The paper is Funky Hand and all the elements (apart from the snowflakes) are cut on the Cricut from the Christmas Cheer cartridge. I printed out the Merry Christmas and matted on silver mirri board. And yes - I had to give a Reindeer a shiny red nose with a rhinestone. I coloured Santa in - I couldn't be bothered with the wee fiddly bits - but he looks OK.

And yeah - here's last weeks gift bag - kinda late, but it's here.

Image is Ladybug and Friends. Papers - Funky Hand. Punches used were - Martha Stewart Icicle border and snowflake and Hobbycraft snowflake. Sentiment - printed out.

Winter Wonderland & 3D Magnolia

I had these cards made ages ago, but forgot to post them. So had better do it now, or I'll be too late.

The first card is for the monthly challenge over at Just Magnolia Too. They want to see you 3D your image. Well I did manage it and liked the way it turned out, but really don't like cutting up good images. I know it's not really a problem, just stamp out more. But it's just the thought. Now if it was an image where bits didn't take, then that's a different matter. Anyway, I did it without causing myself any harm. The paper is Pink Petticoat and I have stuck plenty of punched snowflakes about.

Anyway the last one is for the Winter Wonderland challenge. The theme over there is By candle light. I used this cute image by Buzzcraft. Although it's not from their Christmas range, I just think it cries out Chrismas. The papers are Pink Petticoat and I printed out the Text.

Yeah OK, I admit it, I have only just figured out how to put text above my pictures. But hey, I am getting there slowly.

Winter Wonderland

Over at Winter Wonderland they want to see a Christmas Ornament. I didn't know what to do for this one. But I managed to make a fimo penguin. The penguin bit was OK, but the hat was a nightmare. I'm still not sure about it, but hey, it's done now. I added googly eyes, just for fun.
