The Sugar Bowl #49

I thought I had better get my card posted for the challenge over at The Sugar Bowl before the new one is posted. The extra was to use snowflakes, so I picked this cutie by Mary Hall. Only I cut the snowflakes off - go figure eh. The papers are again downloads from Sweet Shoppe Designs, by Zoe Pearn. Just love em. I have used a Martha Stewart Icicle punch, but it doesn't show up very well here, and a snowflake punch that I got from Hobbycraft. The button was added for a bit of colour on the snowflake. I also used the Cuttlebug snowflakes embossing folder. I think I might just have to find some more different ones for a change.

The Sugar Bowl #45

It's been that long since I have done anything here that I nearly forgot my password. Not good. I thought I had better get my card up that I made for the Sugar Bowl challenge. It's only been sitting around for the last week. But here I am. I decided these were the only stamps I had that went with the theme Autumn, so I chopped her legs off. I had already coloured her, so couldn't waste the wee squirrel. So he got his place on the bottom. The papers are a download from Sweet Shoppe Designs. I am so addicted to this site. I think they are by Zoe Pearn. The sentiment is a Magnolia stamp, and the leaves are an MS punch.

Thought I would show you my wee pups as well. My miniture Jack Russell had 3 wee puppies on the 8th September. They are growing well and are getting up to so much mischief, but still adorable. This is the wee girl, she had a home straight away and she has a lot of character. I think she is gonna be like her Mum.

And this is the middle one, he's just so chunky, And so like his Dad (our short leg black and tan Jack Russell). He certainly likes his food. He's not got a home yet, but I think Hubby is secretly happy and wants to keep him.

And then we have the Baby - Boab. He's going to Hubby's lil Sis and will be spoilt rotten I'm sure. But at least we can still see him regular.

One of the three together. The Boss woman leading. From L to R Boab, Bess and Barney.

Cute card Thursday and A spoonful of sugar

Finally I have got round to putting a card up. Although I am pushing it a bit for the challenge over at A spoonful of sugar. They give you 3 weeks and I still nearly miss it. For my card I have used the sketch from Cute card Thursday. The papers are a download from Sweet Shoppe Designs - there's a surprise eh. The donkey is from Stampavie, designed especially for Michelle, and yes, the card is to send to Michelle. I don't know her, but love to visit her blog and see her wonderful cards and photos of her animals. I'm guessing you all know about her accident, so wont go into it. Anyway, back to the card. I punched out the flowers and the ticket is a stamp from Whimsy stamps. And I have added a few craftwork card thingies - you know them brad like thingies. And I had better go and try and upload this, before I miss the challenge completely.

Cute card Thursday #119

The challenge over at Cute Card Thursday is Lets get Fruity. So, as I am not getting in much crafting lately, thought I would get these tags for my Mums fruit chutney she made. Only another 11 to make. Mum retired and decided to make some chutney for everyone at work. Me being smart said - I'll make some tags to go with them. So I had printed out the name - only it should read March 2010 - shh I wont tell if you wont. But hey - this challenge is making me get started. So as my Dad is into his photography, we had to set it up properly. But hey - I kinda like it. But no, don't expect to see all the photos like that.

And a closer up of the tag. The papers are a download from Sweet Shoppe designs, as is the apple circle. I went over it with glossy accents and added a bit of red gingham and tied it to the jar with some raffia.

Baby Alana

I thought I would try and get making cards, so here I have made a card for my Cousin who has just had a Baby Girl called Alana. I decided to make an Easel card and followed the sketch over at Papertake Weekly. I used papers from Pink Petticoat, not my usual for a Baby card right enough. That's the problem with moving eh. I've managed to pack my most used things to hand, but I guess you always decide you want to use something else when you can't eh. I am also going to enter it into A Spoonful Of Sugar where the theme is - Celebrations. I guess you can call a Baby something to celebrate - yeah. And I also want to enter it into Mo's Digital Challenge since the image is from Mo's Digi's and the theme over there is Babies. I saw this image and just had to get it for my Cousin. I cut the circles out with nesties and the swirls are a Marianne D die. I have also used some Craftwork card candy and some heart gems. I have also added a wee bit of black ribbon at the bottom of the image, and printed out the text.

The Sugar Bowl #35

First of all - excuse the wonky photo. It's been one of those days, and it's in focus, so is going to do. When I saw the sketch over at The Sugar Bowl, for some reason this image sprung to mind. I knew it wouldn't fit in the circle, so decided to make it look like he's in the spotlight. (Maybe?). They also want to see some recycling. I decided I wanted to use a can ring pull, but couldn't seem to fit it in. So I decided to use a button from my "off clothes" button box. But then I put the button on top of the ring pull and hey - I kinda liked that, so there it stayed. The papers are a download from Tinker & Co (I think) and I printed out the text. Although the text was actually a bit bigger than I would have liked, it still works. Oh and course my image is from Sugar Nellie.

Winter Wonderland gift card holder

I got a bit carried away with this one. The challenge over at Winter Wonderland is to make a gift card holder for Christmas. I decided to make 2 - a his and hers for Hubbies kids. Well I say kids, but they can now be classed as young adults I think. (Boy, that makes me feel old). I don't usually make these, but think I might have to make some more. I kinda like the dinky size of them. I will have to find where they do their shopping, so they can actually get a Gift card that they can use eh.

Anyway, for the Santa card, the papers are from Sweet shoppe Designs and are by Zoe Pearn. The Santa is a High Hopes stamp. I have used the EK Success snow flake border punch, but you have to look real close to see it, and printed out the text. For the Rabbit card, the papers are Pink Petticoat and the stamp is Kraftin Kimmie. I used just white card for the mat and inked the edges with Distress ink, and again printed out the text.

The Sugar Bowl #34

Here is my entry for The Sugar Bowl. They have a fab sketch by Tiets and also want you to use punches. I had this image by Leanne Ellis half coloured in, so thought I would finish her off. The papers are a download from Sweet Shoppe Designs, I think they are by Kristin Cronin-Barrow. I punched out the flowers and the circles in the centres and the sentiment is a Whimsy postmark stamp.

Candy

Look at this fab candy. Rach is celebrating her new blog and is offering some candy. Hanglar and Stangler stamps and Tim Holtz paper. How cool is that. I have added the link on my sidebar, if you just click on the picture.

Winter Wonderland embossing

The challenge over at Winter Wonderland is embossing. I'm running a bit late with this one - but hopefully not too late. I quite like this card and its simple ness. I used an embossing folder from Crafts too for the tree and the papers are Pink Petticoat. I printed the Special Couple directly onto the paper then printed the Merry Christmas and cut with a nestie. Added some tartan ribbon and some stickles and rhinestones to the tree. I inked around the edges with Distress inks. I think I might just have to make a few more of these.

Winter Wonderland

Over at Winter Wonderland they have a sketch for you to follow and want to see a Bunny on your card. I went with my Kraftin Kimmie Bunny and used papers from Sweet Shoppe Designs by Zoe Pearn. My Bunny is a bit too big for my oval right enough, but that's the biggest oval I had. I printed out the text and cut it out with a nestie.

The Sugar Bowl #32

I just had to enter the challenge over at The Sugar Bowl this week. You get to pick your sketch from past sketches. I decided to choose the sketch from challenge #8. I think this was my first challenge I entered - by e-mail. If not the first, close to it. I have used papers from Sweet Shoppe Designs, by Dani. Lovin' these papers at the mo. I've had them for a while, but didn't realise just how much I loved them. The Friend is also from the download. I punched a few flowers out and added some rhinestones. I bought some of these pins and wanted to see how it would look - hence stuck behind the Friend. But hey - I'm kinda liking it there.

I thought I would show you the original card. These papers are from a Chris Warner CD.

Mo's Digital Pencil #25

I have made this one for the challenge over at Mo's Digital challenge. They are wanting you to use pastel colours. So I made another simple one with these Papermania papers and punched a wee strip with my Martha Stewart punch. Added a bit of ribbon and 3 craftwork candies and that was me. But the photo is looking rather squint.

Winter Wonderland & Anyone for Anya

Yay - I'm back. But probably not for long. I'm supposed to be packing - on the move again, but decided I would have a play instead. We've still got a wee while to go, but I guess the panic will set in when I realise it will all have to be done - fast. But til then I'll have my wee play. Anyway, first up is my card for Winter Wonderland. They have a sketch and want to see Santa somewhere. Can you spot him - yeah. I thought the sketch looked a bit technical at first, but once I got going, things kinda fell into place. The papers are Pink Petticoat, the Santa is High Hopes and the Ho,Ho,Ho is Cuddly Buddly. I couldn't let the card pass without a punched snowflake, so put one in the middle square. I printed out the Merry Christmas and added some wee rhinestones.

And my second card is for the challenge over at Anyone for Anya where they too have a sketch. I have kept it pretty simple (oh OK - very simple) as I usually do with Boy cards. All the papers are Basic Grey and I added 3 wee buttons in the corner. The image is from The Greeting Farm. I was going to add some text, but thought I would leave that til I decide who it's for.

3 in 1 easel card

I started this card originally for the challenge over at Penny Black which is an Easel card. I need a few Baby cards this year, so I thought I would make a start. I love this Penny Black stamp - especially for Baby cards. And over at Lili of the Valley they want to see an Easel card, so I am going to enter it into that one too. I was a bit slow with this one, but Cute Card Thursday want to see the theme Celebrations. And I guess you can celebrate the birth of a baby - yeah. So hey - I managed 3 challenges with this one. I think the dotty paper is Pink Petticoat, but I'm not too sure of the other one. It's off a CD, I do know that much.

Friday Sketches & Mo's Digi

For todays card, I have followed the sketch over at Friday Sketches, which I quite enjoyed (even though it had a circle in it). I used these colours so I could also enter it into Mo's Digital Challenge, where the colours are blue, brown and neutral (white or cream). Obviously it is one of Mo's images and the papers are printed from a Funky Hand CD. I used the Thank you, just because it was there really. I wasn't sure what to put there, but came across this lurking about my desk, so thought it would be just right.

Whiff of Joy #69

I have made this card for the challenge over at Whiff of Joy which is coffee and cream. I printed out the papers (Pink Petticoat) and realised they were brown and white. So I got the Distress inks out and - well - distressed. I dug out the organza ribbon and punched some flowers and added wee gems in the centres. Oh - and I used my Martha Stewart doily punch, but you can't really see that very well, and the sentiment is from Cuddly Buddly.

The Sugar Bowl #29

I decided to try and get my card up for the challenge over at The Sugar Bowl. They have a fab sketch by Tiets to follow and also want you to include 3 flowers, 2 brads and 1 button. I have used the 2 brads on the image. The flowers needed something so I used some flat back pearls (is that cheating). I decided to use a Leanne Ellis stamp for this one, and used some freebie MME papers from a magazine. These are so cool, I really don't want to use them. But I managed to at least use a few sheets.

Just for fun

I was asked to make a card for a little girl called Mercedes (I so hope I have spelt her name right), who is going to be two. As I am into the easel cards at the mo, guess what type I made her. I had a row of images out, to start colouring in pink, but this little one from The Greeting Farm won. The paper is from Pink Petticoat and I printed out the text. I used a Sizzix die for her name and age, added some ribbon and buttons and that was me. I don't know if it is what is wanted, but hey - I like it. Do you think it would work if I kept it and changed the name and age to thirty - something. No OK, I wont go there.

Winter Wonderland, CCT

Yay - I'm getting my card for the Winter Wonderland Challenge in before last thing Saturday. No it wont last, but hey - it's a start yeah. Anyway I used a Buzzcraft stamp, which I thought was calling out for a baby Christmas, and the fab sketch. As it was a special Christmas I thought I would make an easel card. These have got to be one of my fave papers at the mo - from Sweet shoppe Designs, by Zoe Pearn. They are Christmas papers, but not just for Christmas - right.

And as the bottom part of the card is spotty, I thought I would enter it into the Cute Card Thursday Challenge which is spots and dots. Running late for that one, but hey - that ones a bonus.

Winter Wonderland Candy cane

I did make a card for last weeks sketch, but never got round to posting it on here. So thought I would put here now to show you all. The papers are Dovecraft and the image is from The Greeting Farm. Have used EK Success border punch and Marta Stewart snowflake punch. Printed out the text.

Running a bit late with this one again. But thought I would chance it anyway. The challenge over at Winter Wonderland is Candy cane red. Use red and white. It doesn't have to have a candy cane image. But I decided to use my Whiff of Joy stamp and go red and white. But I think it might just be a bit too red for me. I think the papers are from Provo craft. The sentiment is a stamp from Popcorn from Crafters Companion.

CCT & Quixotic

Over at Cute Card Thursday they are asking you to use flowers of some sort. This Sarah Kay image by Stampavie has plenty of them. I decided not to add any extra flowers as I thought there was enough on it. The papers are Pink Petticoat, matted onto some black card. I have added some black organza ribbon and a charm. I have also added some punched butterflies so thought I would enter it into the Quixotic Challenge. I cut the 18 out on the Cricut and added 3 wee black flower gems.

The Sugar Bowl & Mo's Digi

Running late as usual. But at least I am actually managing to get the cards up here. The first one here is for The Sugar Bowl. The extra bit was distressing - which I have done, just. I'm not very good at distressing, I love the look, but can't bear to do it to the papers in case I mess it up. I have gone round the edges with brown ink, but I don't know if you can see it. I have also gone round the edges on the image and chalked it a bit. The papers are K & Co and I cut the flower out with the Sizzix. The Hubby actually chose the colours for this one. I had the flower all cut out, but was gonna change one of the layers, but was told not to.

And my next card is for Mo's Digital Challenge. I hope the colours are OK. I didn't really have the right colours, so used these. I love the colour purple / lilac, but just don't seem to be able to fit it in to my crafts. I was obviously going to try before, as I had downloaded this paper from Sweet Shoppe designs by Penny Springman. I punched the flowers out, but stuck them down before I remembered I was going to emboss the backs - oops. But they still look OK. And I printed the text to finish.

Quixotic #9 & Mo's #14

First off we have my card for the Quixotic Challenge, which is a sketch. I have used a Greeting Farm image and the papers are My Minds Eye - Bloom and Grow. I punched out the flowers but might have to go back and put some gems in the middle of them. And the with love I have had an age, so don't know who does that one.

And for my second card, I have a very squint one for Mo's Digital Challenge, which is another sketch. I have made a Christmas card for this one as I am out of ink for the printer, and only had Christmas images ready to colour. I ordered some ink on the Internet. But what comes first - every colour but the one I need. So I might just have to be a little more patient (or go to Argos after all). Anyway - the papers are Papermania and the text is printed (before I ran out of ink obviously), Nesties to cut oval and text, matted on to some turquoise-ish glitter card, and 3 wee craftwork cards candy. And that's it. And I'm now on my way to a stress free Christmas - do you think so. No, me neither.

Winter Wonderland

Yes - I know Christmas is over with, but I thought I would keep going for the Winter Wonderland Challenge. It helps a bit come Christmas again. Although it was the prezzies that were the problem this time. Anyway there is a sketch to follow over at the Winter Wonderland Challenge, I've rotated it for this image. The image is a digi from Pink Cat Studio, coloured with Koh-I-Noor pencils and Sansador. The papers are by Zoe Pearn - Winter Wonderland from Sweet Shoppe Designs. I like these ones and can see them being used for many projects throughout the year. I printed out the text and cut it out using a nestie.

Wednesday, 13 January 2010

Mo's Digital Pencil

Over at Mo's Digi challenge they want to see Birthdays. Most of my images are Christmas - oops. Although I do have a few others, but my ink has run out - typical eh. But I did manage to find one in my to colour pile, so I finally picked the colour - great for a boy card. The papers are DCWV and the sentiment is from Personal Impressions. I kept it simple, just to ease myself back slowly. I really have lost my mojo. I've made an A6 card so I can put it towards the Do crafts Craft for Life campaign. They are supporting Cancer Research UK this year. Hopefully I will manage to get a few more A6 cards made - I keep going back to square.

Penny Black

Happy New Year to you all. Hope you had a great time.
Well I think I have just made it with my card for the Penny Black Challenge. I made this one for the Hubby for Christmas, using a Christmas charm, but never got round to posting it. Then I thought I had missed the challenge, but realised I might still make it. So here it is - a wee Piggie (he loves pigs). I decided to have a change from square and made a small tall card and kept it pretty simple. I was liking this paper this year. And I can even use it for non Christmas cards - cool. It is a download from Sweet shoppe Designs and is by Zoe Pearn. I punched some snowflakes, used an EK Success snowflake border punch and Sizzix letters. And my charm is Santa.
