The Sugar Bowl #20

The added extra over at The Sugar Bowl is paper piecing. So I thought this Gorjuss Girl would be perfect for it. I pieced her dress with the same paper as the background. These are Papermania - Home for Christmas. I have printed the text and matted it into green card. The large snowflake is Martha Stewart and the Poinsettia is from The Hobby House.

A Spoonful of Sugar & Winter Wonderland

Over at A Spoonful of Sugar challenge they have a sketch by Nikki, so I decided to combine this with the Winter Wonderland challenge which is Hot Chocolate. These days when I think of Hot chocolate, I think of it with marshmallows. So I have gone pink and brown. I have used Elisabeth Bell's Hug in a mug by Sugar Nellie and coloured her in with watercolour pencils. The papers are Pink Petticoat. The larger snowflake is a Martha Stewart punch which I got from Bunny Zoe's crafts along with the raffia. I printed the text out as usual and added 2 wee buttons.

Not a Christmas card

I feel that all I'm making is Christmas cards. So when I was asked to make a Wedding card with a Scottish theme, I jumped a the chance for a change. I decided to keep it simple for a change. I don't know if it is what they are looking for - but I'm liking the simplicity of it. I embossed some white card with the Swiss dots Cuttlebug embossing folder and mounted onto some silver card. I took a tall card (another change for me) and put it on that. And for me - a Scottish theme wouldn't be complete without a bit of Tartan ribbon. I have also used the Quickutz horse shoe die, a double heart charm and 3 wee heart rhinestones. I printed out the text and then stamped the Thistle above it. The Thistle stamp is from Heritage Rubber Stamp Co, I think. This is one from the beginning of my stamping obsession. I liked it, but couldn't really use it. I was strictly a black ink pad onto stamp person. But as I progressed and came across the colouring in the stamp (yeah I know - pretty slow aren't I) and this stamp was reborn - I LOVE it.

Penny Black Wk66

Here is my card for this weeks Penny Black Challenge. It was a great sketch by Domi. I kinda shy away from circles, but I don't know why. I think they make great cards. So thanks for getting me to try Guys. I have used papers from the new word books over at Funky Hand. I love them. I have embossed the circle with the Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder. The punched snowflakes and gooey border are Martha Stewart and I have printed out the text.

The Sugar Bowl #19

Here we have my entry into The Sugar Bowl. They want to see the colours pink and brown along with the sketch. I'm not too sure about this card, it just doesn't seem right to me. I mean I love the sketch and like the colours pink and brown .But hey - it's stuck down now, so that's it. I think I'm just having one of them days. The papers are K&Co and the image is one of the charity stamps. The sentiment is from Craftime - a must have that I never seem to use. So thought I would leave them out to see if I use them.

A Spoonful of Sugar & Cute Card Thursday

I have followed the sketch from A Spoonful of Sugar and used the colours from Cute Card Thursday. I used the sweet Miss Anya from The Greeting Farm. The papers are from a Tinker and Co CD and the text is one of the stamps from a Popcorn set from Crafters Companion. I used the quickutz swirl instead of the arrow. I thought the arrow looked cool, but just couldn't get it to fit in - so settled for the swirl. The flowers and brads I got from Poppicrafts, but they've stopped doing them now.

Penny Black Hearts

Over at Penny Black SC the theme is Hearts Desire. I kinda got carried away with the hearts thing on this one. I'm not too sure who the paper is by - it's off a CD somewhere. I printed out the text and punched the heart border with my Martha Stewart punch. I added a wee heart ribbon slider and 2 wee diddy crochet flowers. I got these from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Football Dexter

I followed the sketch over at Friday Sketches for this card. I decided to keep it pretty basic as I was making a boy card so I could enter it into the Get Funky challenge. They want to see a card for a wee boy using some papers/extras from Funky Hand products. I have used a Motivet image and the papers are from the Funky Hand - Funky Seasons CD. I printed out the text and added a button, just for fun.

Just Magnolia WK21

This weeks Just Magnolia challenge is a super sketch by Mina. I have used another oldie for this one. In fact I think this was one of the first I got (first of many right enough). The papers are a download from Tinker & Co. The flowers are Prima and the text is Whiff of Joy. I have used the swiss dots Cuttlebug folder for the white bit behind Tilda. I've really started to get into these embossing folders again.

Winter Wonderland Wk 15

Well I've got an early one for this weeks challenge over at Winter Wonderland. The theme this week is Frosty the Snowman and they have an option of a sketch. I decided I would follow the sketch again - although I wasn't sure what to do with the swirls. In the end I used my Quickutz die and added some punched out snowflakes to make it a bit more Christmasy. I stickled the snowflakes to try and get them to stand out a bit more. Maybe white on white wasn't a good idea eh. The image is Snow cuddle by Penny Black, the papers are Papermania and the flower is Prima. I printed out the text and added some wee rhinestones.

Penny Black Winter

I have 2 lots here, both using Penny Black stamps.

The first challenge is the Winter Wonderland challenge, where the theme is Setting the table. I have made a set of 4 placemats and 4 napkin rings. That's about as far as my imagination takes me.

The second is a card made for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. The papers are Pink Petticoat and the tag is from Lakeland when they were doing Crafty stuff. I cut the Sis out using my Big Shot machine and Girls are Weird Alphabet Sizzlets. I added the wee tree charm, just for fun. But maybe I should have tried to straighten it for the photo eh.

Just Magnolia Wk20

Over at the Just Magnolia Challenge they want to see Ribbons and Bows. They seem to be appearing on most of my cards these days, so I thought I would give it a go. I've also gone back to my older ways of doing cards and kept it pretty simple. I do like the way they look like this, but try to be a bit more adventurous. Not that much right enough. The papers are Pink Petticoat - for a change eh.

The Sugar Bowl #18

Hey - how cool is this. This lil sweetie is from my prize from the last Sugar Bowl Challenge, so just had to use her for this one. Thanks Guys. And I loved the wee Hedgie from this set, so had to find somewhere for him (oh OK - or her). They also wanted to see buttons on your card - yeah I can do that. The papers are from a Chris Warner CD. I went through a phase of using these colours a while back, so dug them out again. I decided it needed a little something else, so inked up my Magnolia Autumn Wishes (previously uninked I must confess).

Friday Sketches #67

Well I was going to combine the Friday Sketches sketch with other challenges, but my prize from The Sugar Bowl arrived and I just had to play with them. As well as the sketch, they had the option of using the colours - blue and orange. I coloured the image and decided to make it for Christmas. I added a little Stickles for the snow. The papers are Pink Petticoat. I decided to put the orange bit in cos I couldn't seem to get any other colour right. I did try different things, but decided this was the best option. I then used my EK Success punch to make the binder look. I punched out a snowflake and used a flower from Wild Orchid Crafts. I sprayed them with some spray and sparkle from Crafters Companion. And to finish off, I printed out the Merry Christmas.
