Stampendous Engagement

I was asked to make an Engagement card with a bit of a Scottish theme. Well OK - so maybe it's not a Scottish theme - but hey - it's got some Tartan. But I kinda like it. I originally got the stamp (by Stampendous) for an Anniversary card for my Mum and Dad. I think they are soo cute. Anyway - the papers are from the Love 2 CD from Crafters Companion. Again I got this for Mum and Dad's card. I didn't know exactly what papers I wanted for the Anniversary card, but knew I would know, when I saw them. (Yeah - maybe I should be showing the Anniversary card eh). I hunted the shops, but nothing stood out. I was watching Create and Craft and saw these papers and thought - hey - that's the one. I did feel pretty daft jumping out of my chair and shouting at the TV right enough. Luckily no-one saw me. Right, back to this card. I love the image and papers, but wasn't too sure if I could then fit the Tartan ribbon in. But I think it works, along with the Martha Stewart border punch. I printed out the text and cut it into a tag shape and put a wee rhinestone on - just for effect. Oh - and the wee heart charm, loving the charm thing at the moment.
I found it fitted the challenge over at Stamp something which is Animals.

Cute Card Thursday #75

Lucky I needed a new job card eh. Cos over at Cute Card Thursday the theme is new beginnings. Perfect I think. Well I have used a Sugar Nellie image with Pink Petticoat papers. Coloured in with watercolour pencils and a few flowers dotted around. I have put wee pearls as the bubbles of the Champers. I printed out the text and cut it into a tag shape and a wee bit of ribbon, just because I like I guess.

Winter Wonderland & 3D Magnolia

I had these cards made ages ago, but forgot to post them. So had better do it now, or I'll be too late.

The first card is for the monthly challenge over at Just Magnolia Too. They want to see you 3D your image. Well I did manage it and liked the way it turned out, but really don't like cutting up good images. I know it's not really a problem, just stamp out more. But it's just the thought. Now if it was an image where bits didn't take, then that's a different matter. Anyway, I did it without causing myself any harm. The paper is Pink Petticoat and I have stuck plenty of punched snowflakes about.

Anyway the last one is for the Winter Wonderland challenge. The theme over there is By candle light. I used this cute image by Buzzcraft. Although it's not from their Christmas range, I just think it cries out Chrismas. The papers are Pink Petticoat and I printed out the Text.

Yeah OK, I admit it, I have only just figured out how to put text above my pictures. But hey, I am getting there slowly.

Crafters Companion

While I was Blog hopping I came across It's a Crafters Companion challenge site. I thought it would give me a chance to dig out my CD's again. But hey, I ended up using my newest edition anyway - The Popcorn CD. The papers and image are all from the Popcorn CD and the Happy Birthday is from one of the Popcorn Stamp sets. After I stuck the ribbon down I thought I should have used a ribbon slider. But it was a tad too late, so I put a bit o bling on instead. As well as a sketch, they want to see ribbon and brads.

Award and Lazy Dayz Penny Black

Hey - I got another award. This one is from Avril Ann. Thanks very much.

I decided to use this sweet Hedgie stamp for the Penny Black Challenge where they want to see stitching. I did a bit of Faux stitching around the edges of the layers. I used the sketch from A Spoonful of Sugar. And I thought the stamp just went with the Cute Card Thursday challenge, which is Lazy Dayz. Although I am pushing it a bit for that one. The papers are K&Co. Not my usual colours, but I kinda like them. The flowers sre Prima, with Craftwork cards Candy for the centre.

A Spoonful of Sugar

Over at A Spoonful of Sugar the challenge is travel. Well, for travel I have used this cool Biker chick from Hanna stamps. The papers are from a Crafters Companion CD - Everyday, I think. The flowers are by Prima and the ribbon is from my mega box of ribbons.

The Sugar Bowl #17

Over at the Sugar Bowl they have a sketch by Judy. They also want to see handmade flowers. So I have punched out 2 different sized flowers - nothing too fancy. The papers are My Minds Eye - Wild Asparagus. With a bit of jute ribbon from Bunny Zoe's crafts. Coloured with Copics - still learning with them, but getting there.

Whimsy Frog

I thought that I would do the challenge over at the Whimsy Stamps Challenge since it is ribbons. And just about all my cards have ribbons on them somewhere. I used the Whimsy Frog and the papers are from a Chris Warner CD. I'd already printed out the papers and didn't really like them that much - thought they were too green. But hey - I couldn't throw them out - I might find a use for them some day. And hey - that day came. I'm still not completely sure - but it did kinda come together. And would you believe, I had ribbon to match. I was actually thinking about white ribbon, but couldn't find any:-( I must have some somewhere.

Magnolia

I managed 3 challenges with this card. I used the sketch over at Friday Sketches and the theme at Cute Card Thursday is at the beach. I then saw over at Stamp something it was Summer Vacation. So what does a trip to the beach mean, well - Summer Holidays - yeah. Well in my case it would be a trip to the river - but close enough I guess.

Anyway, the papers are Pink Petticoat. I embossed some white card with a cuttlebug embossing folder and matted a couple of layers on silver mirri board. I put a wee tag with the sentiment on - which is from a Popcorn stamp set from Crafters Companion. I cut a flower on my Cricut and then punched 2 wee flowers out for the bottom corner. Oh - and the image is Magnolia (but I think you all guessed that yeah).

Alota Cowboy

I followed the sketch over at A Spoonful of Sugar for this card. And over at Roses on Paper they want you to use the colors of Fall - orange, brown and warm red. The wee Cowboy is an Alota stamp and the papers are Dovecraft. I saw them ages ago and decided to get them for a change in colours. And, yep, they lay in the bottom of the draw unused. So I thought they would be perfect for the colors of Fall. The Hey Cowboy is also from Alota stamps. I found the mini buttons in a drawer, so you'll probably be seeing them on several cards.

Oh - and I was asked what kind of dog Bonnie is (profile Pic). Well she's a Jack Russell Terrier - Parsons type.We have 2 others - Bruiser - a black and tan Shortie Jack Russell and Bella - a Tri colour miniture Jack Russell. And Boy is she mini. I call her a handbag dog.

And someone commented on my bows. Well I have to confess - I have a little help with those. I use a bow maker by Keepsake card crafts that I got from createandcraft.tv. But I know you can get the at other places too. I have to admit - I couldn't do bows without it. Such a simple tool, easy to use and with great result. I then glue the bow to my card.

New Challenge

I found a new challenge on my travels. The Delicious Diva Challenge. This is their first challenge - a sketch. I think you can use any image, so I have used a High Hopes image. The papers are printed from a CD - Robert Addams I think. I really must keep a better track of these things. The Congratulations is a peel off.

Truly Scrumptious Sugar Nellie

I followed the sketch over at Truly Scrumptious for this card. I also added the extra of bling with the rhinestones. The cute image is by Sugar Nellie from Funky Kits and the papers are a download from Sweet Shoppe Designs. These papers are nearly taking over from Pink Petticoat. I only said nearly.

Just Magnolia

There is a sketch to follow by Martine over at Just Magnolia. I did follow the sketch, but didn't actually make the tag bit. The papers are Pink Petticoat. And to think I had never used the dotty paper - I do like, yeah. The flowers are Prima. I have also gone over her shoes with glossy accents to give her nice and shiny shoes.

3 in 1 again

I decided to try this weeks Friday Sketches. I like the circle effects on cards, but find it a bit daunting to try. So I decided - go for it gal. So here it is. Yeah I know - Christmas again. I thought I would do the Winter Wonderland Challenge and add a little bit of sparkle. I have stickled the snowflake and the snow under the Penguins feet. I have also used Glitter paper, which sparkles quite nice in certain lights. And I also added 4 wee rhinestones at the top. Oh - and a googly eye - which has nothing to do with sparkle - but looks kinda cute. Anyway the papers are Pink Petticoat - no surprise there then eh. The image is Inkadinkado, but can't remember where I got it, The large circle has been embossed by the snowflake cuttlebug folder. I printed out the greeting and added 2 wee penguin charms. And as I added the charms, I see it fits into the challenge over at Stamp Something.

Whiff of Joy

Over at the Whiff of Joy challenge they have a sketch by Jacqui. I quite liked the way this card turned out. I have used MME - Wild Asparagus papers.

Penny Black Wk 61

I think I might be just about getting back into the swing of things this week. I just couldn't seem to get into the challenges lat week. So here I am with an early one for this weeks Penny Black Challenge - which is a sketch by Beth. I went with my good old faithful Jump for Joy Froggie stamp. The papers are from a Chris Warner CD - although I think the square bit is a CarolAnn Studio Cd. The flower I have had an age and added a die cut from my Cricut with a flower brad in the centre. I have also added a butterfly brad in the top corner. The Happy Birthday is printed out and Froggie is cut out with a nestie. I have also popped out the flower with the frog.

Winter Wonderland #10

I have made this card for the Winter Wonderland challenge, which is Winter Wonderland with the option of a sketch. I decided to give the sketch a go. It's not quite what I imagined Winter Wonderland to be, but I didn't have the stamps for what I really wanted, so I made do with what I had. Tempting as it was to go buy the other stamps. The Polar bear etc are from a clear Woodware set and the Christmas Wishes is from The Craft UK Santa & Penguin rubber stamp set. And OK, if I must confess, that's a new set I got - it was just too cute to resist. I blame my Sister for that one, well she did take me to my local craft shop. The papers are Dovecraft. I punched a snowflake for the corners and some L-Em leaves. I also added some stickles for the glistening snow.

Friday Sketches Wk 63

For this card I followed the sketch over at Friday Sketches. The papers are Pink Petticoat and the image is from Motivet. The Get Well Soon is from one of the Popcorn stamp sets again and the flowers are Prima.

The Sugar Bowl #16

The Sugar Bowl has a sketch by Marlene with the added extra of doodling. Well I'm not really a doodler (on my cards anyway) so kept it simple. I just doodled round the edge of the circle and again on one of the layers. The papers are Bloom and Grow download from Sweet Shoppe Designs. The thank you is a stamp from one of the Popcorn sets from Crafters Companion. I have covered the Skull in the Gorjuss Girls hair with a Prima flower. Although I do like the Skull, I thought the flower looked better with this card.

Fishing Riley

Over at A Spoonful of Sugar they have a sketch by Caryn. I decided to use this cute Riley stamp along with Basic Grey papers. The Happy Birthday is from one of the Popcorn stamp sets by Crafters Companion. I seem to put buttons on my boyish cards, so as my norm I have put 3 buttons down the side.

Stampavie #9

Over at the Stampavie blog they have a challenge to make a box from the tutorial here by Lauren M. I actually quite enjoyed this, once I decided it wasn't difficult at all. I made a Crimbo one - cos I would probably use them more at Christmas. I think this one will go to the Step Daughter - She's 18 and likes pink. I'm sure I'll find something to fill it with. Anyway, back to the box. The papers are Pink Petticoat and of course the image is Sarah Kay from last Christmas. I have punched out the snowflakes and used a McGill punch for the words.
